This authentic World War II-era Women’s Army Corps (WAC) "Hobby Hat" is a classic piece of military history, crafted from traditional olive drab wool felt. Named after the first WAC director, Colonel Oveta Culp Hobby, its distinctive stiff-brimmed silhouette features a prominent gold-toned United States Army eagle crest centered on the front crown. A matching fabric hatband is secured at the sides by smaller coordinating eagle insignia buttons. The interior retains its original leather sweatband, a fully lined crown, and a historic maker's mark from Gimbel Brothers, New York, making it a remarkably well-preserved militaria collectible.
