Consignment FAQ
What is consignment? ›
Consignment allows you to place your furniture and home décor with Ballard Consignment for sale. We display approved items in our stores and online. When your item sells, you receive your agreed share of the final sale price.
Why should I choose consignment? ›
Consignment can save you the time and hassle of selling everything yourself. You don't have to photograph and list each item on online marketplaces, answer messages, negotiate prices, or arrange meetings with buyers.
If you're moving, downsizing, or simply don't have time to sell your items yourself, you can bring your approved items to us and let our team handle the rest. Once your items sell, you'll receive your monthly payout.
Do you buy furniture, or is it consignment? ›
Ballard Consignment operates on a consignment model rather than purchasing furniture directly. Approved items are placed for sale in our stores and online, and you receive your percentage when your item sells.
What items do you accept? ›
We accept quality, sale-ready furniture and home décor, including living room furniture, dining room furniture, bedroom furniture, outdoor furniture, lamps, mirrors, artwork, collectibles, and other unique home pieces.
We do not accept mattresses or baby furniture. Acceptance depends on the item's condition, style, quality, and our current inventory needs.
Do you pick up items from my home? ›
We don't currently offer in-house pickup or delivery services. Approved items need to be brought to one of our stores.
If you need help getting larger furniture to us, we can recommend a delivery service: Uff Da! Logistics.
How do I submit my items? ›
Start by submitting photos and details through our online consignment form. Our managers will review your submission and contact you by email with next steps if your items are a good fit.
How much do I receive? ›
You receive 50% of the final sale price via check or 60% via store credit. Store credit can be used at any of our locations. Payouts are made monthly.
