This item is a vintage Mov-E-Lite 2-Light Bar, an iconic piece of mid-century continuous studio lighting hardware manufactured by the Acme-Lite Manufacturing Co. in Chicago. Introduced in the 1950s, these lighting bars were designed to be mounted directly to the bottom of 8mm or 16mm movie cameras using a standard thumb screw. This provided amateur filmmakers with a portable, bright floodlight system that moved synchronously with the camera to illuminate indoor family scenes or home videos.
