A powerful, expressive original piece of a contemporary oil pastel portrait of "Billie Holiday" by Los Angeles-based artist Silvia Wagensberg. This piece showcases her distinctive, energetic line work and a heavily layered, almost woodcut-like carving technique through the medium of rich oil pastels.
Originally schooled as an artist in Barcelona before moving to Southern California, Wagensberg is known for vibrant, introspective portraiture celebrating diverse communities, musicians, and cultural identities.
