This stately antique secretary desk is crafted from rich mahogany and features a striking serpentine front on the lower drawers. The piece is elevated on traditional ball-and-claw feet, lending it a classic and grounded presence.
The upper portion features a slant-top drop-front that opens to reveal a highly organized interior workspace. The interior "prospect" area includes several small document cubbies, four small stationery drawers with brass pulls, and a central cabinet door flanked by decorative fluted pilasters. Below the workspace, four full-width drawers provide ample storage, each adorned with ornate brass batwing-style pulls and decorative keyhole escutcheons. Please note the writing surface shows authentic signs of age, including surface scratches and minor wear consistent with historical use.
