This expressive original painting by the artist Doongal showcases the traditional "X-ray" or skeletal style of Aboriginal art. A member of the Wiradjuri tribe, Doongal learned this specific technique from his father, depicting the internal structures of animals traditionally hunted for food. His work is also deeply influenced by his wife, Yirrmbee, of the Kuku-Djugun tribe, blending diverse cultural lineages into his craft.
This piece features a meticulously detailed emu, rendered with vibrant earth tones and intricate dot and line work. It is professionally presented with a white gallery mat and housed in a slim orange frame, allowing the spiritual and ancestral storytelling of the artwork to take center stage.
